What a treat to have Lia’s birthday fall on Mother’s Day this year. We spent a lot of the day reminiscing about last year’s Mother’s Day being our very first full day as parents. A wonderful year began that day, and we look forward to many more in the future.
To avoid leftover cake with no fridge space, we opted to craft a bouquet of cake balls! Lia had her own flower cupcake with green frosting, but the adults needed a taste of something sweet too.
The theme for Lia’s party was “Shake, Rattle, and Roll” We had a milkshake bar, rattles for the babies, and a variety of sliders on fresh baked rolls.
Grandma came early with a special delivery of balloons for Lia’s chair. We soon learned she has an aversion to balloons that was quite comical. (Video Below)
Dad, What’s all this about?
After singing “Happy Birthday” and blowing out her candle, Lia was free to indulge in her first-ever sugary treat. She was a slow starter:
But soon she came around:
Time to get cleaned up…
…reluctantly
After scrubbing green frosting from her hair, she was all smiles again
Until…Those crazy balloons:
Turns our balloons don’t make every kid happy. Who Knew?!
Happy Birthday to our Precious Peanut! You have brought so much joy to your parents and everyone who has had the chance to meet you this year. We love you very much.
You did an amazing job, such a crafty momma!
