Spring Cleaning aka... "Nesting"

Although many participate in the long tradition of Spring Cleaning, when you are 3 weeks from having a baby, it's deemed "nesting". Our bags are far from packed for the hospital, but our closets and storage spaces are making this mom-to-be glow!

Who knew I married an artist?! As we cleaned off the chalk board, Josh took his new tip from our birthing class ( 5:1:1 = contractions 5 minutes apart, 1 minute long, for 1 hour duration --> head to hospital for baby) He captured the advice in this fabulous chalk mural, so we'll never forget when to get going!

So cute!

I may not be able to do much with a sewing machine, but just look what I can do with a glue-gun!! I took some extra fabric that we picked for the picture frame matting and transformed this plain, white lampshade into a custom nursery piece!

SO excited about how it turned out. Total cost = $2.99.

We decided that with strollers, diapers, and baby accessories, we needed to clear some extra space on the shelves of our "gear closet". Clearing the shelves turned into a full on organizing endeavor. We even used the infamous label maker (Thanks Mom!) Definitely feeling a little "Monica" these days. (My fellow Friends fans will understand)

Goal: Keep closets and pantry looking like this until May 12th... May 12th and beyond would be the ultimate preference.

Nesting complete!

A toast to all of your own Spring Cleaning adventures!

  1. okay, are u sure u don't need to get that bag packed a bit earlier for the hospital? Nesting like this might mean baby is coming sooner than u think... I'm just saying! And that Lamp shade is super-duper cute. One little itty bitty word of advice (from someone who thought to put a lamp on the changing table as well) 1- the light will be in babies eyes 2- if it is a boy it will most definitly get pee'd on. 3- sometimes those little baby legs and arms are stronger than you think and might just pull or push that lamp over.
    :) Love u guys!
