Take me out to the Ball Game!

To celebrate Josh’s first Father’s Day, we took Lia to the Rockies game. We were fortunate to have front row seats, beautiful weather, and an extremely content baby girl! It’s sad to admit, but yes, we propped Lia on top of the dugout and made her do the twist to land a spot on the jumbo screen. The camera man must have been unaware of our efforts. She never made the big screen, but we sure had fun dancing!

“Seriously Rockies, you let 4 runs through in the last inning…what kind of defense is that?”

Sara’s Visit!

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting my friend SB and her 15 month old, Owen. We met at TCU and have stayed close ever since. What an incredible gift to have her here to meet Lia and spend some precious time with our family. We experienced a lot of CO highlights: Pearl Street in Boulder, the Flatirons, sitting poolside under blue skies, an evening backyard campfire, and Park Meadows. I’m not quite sure how, but in addition to watching her son and meeting all his needs, she managed to make us dinner, bake fresh banana bread and chocolate cake, complete and fold loads of laundry, and take Lia duty to ensure we could get a nap. In addition, she was nurturing Owen’s health as he battled dehydration and a high fever. What a super mom and incredible friend!

1 Month Old!

One month has already flown by since little Lia entered our lives. Here are some recent pictures of her resting between all of her many adventures. This past week she joined us and used her best manners for an alumni dinner for Westmont college, met her cousins Jeremy and Libby, grilled and enjoyed yard games to celebrate a friend's birthday, and joined some CCHS graduation festivities. She also went to the pool with her grandma and grandpa and loved being in the sun with her aunts and uncles. She is definitely a baby on the go! It is so fun to watch her take in all that's around her and study this world she now explores.

Road Trip

To celebrate the 3 day weekend and 3 weeks of Lia's life, we decided to take her to Vail for her first CO mountain experience. Lia was a champion traveler; she definitely seems to share her mom and dad's passion for mountain adventure. Her adventures included: meeting her grandparents and uncle Erik, lounging poolside, walking to Vail Village and enjoying breakfast on bridge street, and some fine dining. It was fun for me to be able to partake in my own adventures that I haven't been able to do since becoming pregnant. Josh and I played 18 holes of golf, I was able to lay on my stomach to get some sun on my back, and I sat in a hot tub for the first time in 10 months. We weren't sure how Lia would do on her 1st weekend away but learned quickly that the opportunity was one we will definitely do again soon.
